Welcome to Direct Study

 

 Direct Study is a specified time determined by you each week totaling 1 x 40 mins where you will complete tasks given and supervised by your teacher. 
 

 The purpose of this aspect of the course is slightly different from normal homework.

Homework can be very varied and often involves in RS a lot of reading and preparing for essays whereas Direct Study is geared to learning specific skills and monitored very closely by your teacher.

In Religious Studies, we have decided to combine Direct study with teaching the skills necessary to produce really good coursework. This would seem to kill two birds with one stone!

You will find on this site all the necessary material to download

There are forms for you to download and fill in and either hand to your teacher of discuss with them on a strict time structure.

 You will find information to help you and various tasks to teach you how to research properly.

Good coursework is based upon planning, thinking, reading a wide variety of sources, discussion, more thinking and then writing.  Even then you will need to consider how conclusions can be drawn.  Each form is geared to help you develop the various parts of good coursework.
