This is the main page for assignments for Year 12 As Level both in Philosophy and Buddhism. All instructions are contained on each page including any downloads necessary.    Please use General information and Links page to check any websites.

PHILOSOPHY

Assignment 1.     Beginnings.     This will help you get started into the world of philosophy. 
                           There are some basic questions and then some simple tasks to do. 
                           Be prepared to read quite a bit and keep a dictionary handy.

Assignment 2.     Internet Searches.  This is designed to get you used to using   
                           the internet quickly to research information.  It will also help                            you bookmark sites useful for Philosophy.

Assignment 3.    Library Searches.  Whilst everyone claims to know how to use a                            library, sometimes it helps to be given a task or set of tasks that                              simply guide you round the library and its resources.  There is a                           vast array of resources in our library as well as a very well     
                          stocked Religious Studies section.

Assignment 4.    The problem of Evil. This is not really a specific assignments, it  is the first                           experiment to place a major item from the specification on the website.                              You should be able to use this site to clarify what you need to know,  to                           specify what you need to read and to down load some questions for you to                           guide your work.   It also has some websites which have been vetted for                           your use

Assignment 5    The Philosophy Page. (Post As exam assignment) this is a test to see if you
                         really love philosophy!
 

BUDDHISM

Assignment 1    Meditation.  This is work set during the school closure. Enclosed is a pack
                         of reading material that goes with this work.  It is essential that you do the
                         readings in order, that you highlight essential work and that you make the
                         required notes.  Mrs Bohm has also e-mailed this question sheet to you so
                         that you have the direct links.
