·          Understand short messages or dialogues, using language you already know (this is spoken at almost normal speed)

·          Pick out main points and personal responses, eg. Likes and dislikes (you can still hear words & phrases several times)

 

·          Understand longer dialogues (This is spoken at almost normal speed, but with some background noise)

·          Pick out the main points and some details (You can have some things repeated)

 

·          Understand reports or conversations about several topics at the same time, eg. My school and daily routine or sport and clothes

·          Understand the tense of the language – eg. Past, present, future (This is spoken at almost normal speed but with no gaps)

·          Pick out main points, specific details and opinions (You may listen a few times)

 

·          Understand longer conversations & reports about several familiar topics, but with new situations, eg. School abroad/traditional dress in various countries (This is now spoken at normal speed and some background noise.  You can understand almost all the language after the first hearing

 

·          Understand different sorts of conversations using new words

·          Understand complex sentences, eg. Brief news items and fiction taken from radio and television

·          You can understand the language after the first hearing
