Look at your bag and design sheets. Use notes and sketches to record your thoughts about how successful your 'BE SEEN' project work has been. Answer all the questions below.

1. APPEARANCE OF THE BAG:

  • Compare your final design idea with your finished bag. Does your drawing look exactly like your finished bag? If not, why not?

  • Have you got the same number of stripes as you had in your drawing? Are they the same colour as your design? If not, why not?

  • Are the fluorescent colours of the lining and tapes as you wanted them? Have you applied reflective tape?

  • Measure your bag. Is the finished size of the bag as you planned? Why?

  • What colour eyelets and how many did you use?

  • Is the drawstring the same colour as the fluorescent tape? Why?

2. FUNCTION OF THE BAG:

  • Explain which sport or leisure activity you planned to use the bag for.

  • Is you finished bag appropriate for that activity. Why and how?

  • Can it 'BE SEEN' clearly in the evening and daytime?

  • Explain what retro-reflectivity is? Look at the web link and explain in your own words.

  • Name 4 places you would see retro-reflectivity.  Collect pictures of examples of these and add them to your evaluation.

  • What is the distance that retro-reflective materials can be seen in the dark? How much farther is this than dark clothing in the dark?

  • How do retro-reflective materials work?

3. DESIGNING:

  • Look at your design sheets. Are they  neatly presented, annotated, rendered and completed? How could you improve them next time?

4. PLANNING AND ORGANISATION:

  • Did you produce clear instructions for making the bag? Show your parents/guardian the plans and ask them if they understand the instructions clearly enough to be able to make the bag.

  • How organised were you in practical lessons? How could you improve your organisation?

5. MAKING:

  • Which practical tasks did you find most difficult? Explain why?

  • Which practical tasks were the easiest to do? Why?

  • Did you feel confident when cutting, threading the machine, sewing, ironing and punching eyelets onto the bag?

  • Are you pleased with your finished bag? Will you use it?

  • What have you enjoyed most of all during this project?
